| Faulty Door Knob Breaks, Elderly Woman Breaks Hip |

JANESVILLE, WI - Attorney Richard Kalkhoff, of Pitman, Kyle & Sicula S.C., won a $215,000 settlement on behalf of Janesville woman who fell due to a faulty door knob. The Plaintiff, a 97-year-old woman, was entering her apartment when the doorknob broke away from the door causing her to fall and land on a cement stoop. The victim was taken to a local hospital where she was treated for a broken hip. The lawsuit, filed in Circuit Court of Rock County, alleged that the defendants were negligent in the construction, inspection, repair, safeguarding and warning with regard to the door and area where the plaintiff was injured.
